Awards & RecognitionCare Home Openings

In 2008, after developing a care home, Ameet’s journey into the care sector began unexpectedly when he took the next step to operate it himself. With a background in property development, focusing on high-quality residential projects, it wasn’t what Ameet was used to, but he revealed, “As soon as I stepped into the world of care, I knew I had found my true calling.”

Developing and operating care homes became incredibly fulfilling for Ameet, leading him to establish Churchgate Healthcare—a group of five purpose-built homes across London and the South East, specialising in nursing and dementia care. Ameet said, “The most rewarding part of my role was working alongside residents, their families, and the dedicated teams that make care possible.”

By 2015, Ameet’s passion had grown, and he saw an opportunity to create something more personal. Through extensive research, he recognised the demand for high-quality care homes that combined exceptional care with an intimate, homely environment. Drawing on his experience with Churchgate Healthcare, Ameet set out to create a truly personalised approach—where residents not only received outstanding care but also felt a profound sense of belonging and community. Boutique Care Homes was born.

“With this vision, I established a business centred on exceptional customer service, a warm and loving atmosphere, and a true family focus. The Burlington, our first home in Shepperton, opened in January 2019, followed by Brampton Manor in Newmarket (2021) and Chartwell House in Broadstairs (2023), with more homes on the horizon.

“At Boutique Care Homes, we believe in care so good, it’s unexpected—care that leaves residents feeling valued and empowered, while giving their loved ones peace of mind. Every detail of our homes, from elegant yet practical design to personalised care, is crafted to create an environment where life is fulfilling. More than just meeting needs, we strive to foster joy, independence, and a deep sense of belonging for every resident.”

Boutique Care homes blend elegance and practicality to create spaces where teams can deliver the highest standards of care while ensuring residents feel truly at home. That feeling of warmth and belonging is what Ameet believes defines Boutique, encapsulated in the ethos: ‘A warm and loving family where everyone feels at home.’

We asked Ameet what he loves most about his role, to which he said, “One of the greatest joys is working with a diverse range of people—our dedicated teams, the wider care sector, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families. Every day is different, and that variety keeps me inspired. I feel incredibly fortunate to work with a team that is relentlessly committed to excellence. Their passion and dedication drive everything we do, and I continue to learn from them daily. Their enthusiasm fuels my own, making this journey all the more rewarding.”

Recalling one of the proudest moments of his career, Ameet said, “Winning the Small Care Home Group of the Year at the 25th National Care Awards was huge.

“To be recognised by industry peers—who truly understand the challenges and rewards of running a care group—was an incredible honour. Beyond the award itself, the recognition reaffirmed our commitment to excellence and inspired our team to keep raising the bar.”

As an inspirational figure, for anyone entering the care sector and hoping to further their career, Ameet advises them to work hard, learn as much as possible, and embrace every opportunity to grow. “The care sector offers a wide range of career paths, from frontline care roles to hospitality, administration, activities, and management. Be open to exploring different areas—you might find your true passion in an unexpected place. Above all, bring energy, compassion, and a desire to make a difference,” he finished.
