Caring Homes Group are proud to announce the launch of their new Dementia Hub – an online content hub which shares knowledge and insight gained from 30 years’ experience as a leading national care provider.

The Dementia Hub has launched as the group marks Dementia Action Week (13th-19th May) – an annual campaign that brings people together under a unified theme to raise awareness and act on dementia.

Designed to be a source of information and inspiration, the Dementia Hub is not just for people looking for care, but anyone touched by dementia who seeks further support and guidance. Centred around Caring Homes ‘My World’ approach to providing the best possible dementia care, the Hub uses videos and stories to reveal the group’s dementia care in action and its impact on residents, their families and the wider community.

Care Services and Operations Director, Julie Mason said, “For some, living with dementia is a step in life’s journey. Our aim is to keep that journey as vibrant, independent and fulfilling as possible. Our programme ‘My World’ provides training and information to both staff and relatives so they have a shared understanding of the needs of the resident. By following researched practices and delivering care with kindness and patience, we provide what our residents need in an environment that caters specifically for them, so that each person can live their own life with purpose, happiness and independence”.

The Dementia Hub is housed on the Caring Homes website – www.caringhomes.org – and also includes a calendar of regular dementia-related events hosted by Caring Homes around the UK. Open to everyone, these discussions, workshops and drop-in ‘dementia cafes’ are designed to offer support, raise awareness and reduce the stigma around dementia by encouraging greater understanding in the wider community.
