TWO devoted staff members at a Sevenoaks care home have scooped prestigious national awards.

Head Chef Aneil Manmohan and Maintenance Officer Cy Gadd of Nesbit House Care Home, Badgers Mount, have come up tops in The Housing with Care Awards.

The awards recognise excellence and diversity in the care sector, paying tribute to the front-line workforce and raising awareness of the different type of housing and retirement models to suit all needs.

Aneil Manmohan, aged 46, won in Chef Award category. He said: “It’s an honour to win this incredible title for the services we provide to our wonderful residents.

“Every day I consider it a privilege to work in this sector and ensure that our residents receive the very best support.

“I am passionate about providing people with a good diet which makes a huge difference to our overall health and wellbeing.”

And Cy Gadd, aged 27, was over the moon when he came first in the Care Handyman / Person category. He said: “This is a tribute to everyone at Nesbit House Care Home, it’s always about teamwork and supporting one another to provide excellent care.

“I enjoy my job and never forget how fortunate I am to be able to work with such wonderful people. I have certainly made some wonderful friends through the home and thank everyone for their support too.”

Former legal executive and resident John Nelson, aged 92, was delighted to see the awards and he said he nominated Aniel because his food is ‘good!”

The Housing with Care Awards, run by Care Talk, recognises and celebrates excellence in care. The awards were presented at a dazzling ceremony earlier this month.
