The new care home has created 100 new jobs and offers exceptional nurse-led care to adults living with a range of complex care needs.
Exemplar Health Care, one of the country’s leading nursing care providers for adults living with complex care needs, has marked the official opening of Hamilton Springs care home, located on Westfield Lane.
Cutting the ribbon was The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Wakefield Metropolitan District, Councillor Darren Byford, who expressed his gratitude to the home’s care team for their dedication to residents. In addition, he noted Exemplar Health Care’s commitment to the community, highlighting the need for care services in the area for people with complex needs.
The new home is the result of an extensive refurbishment of the former building, New Haven elderly care home, which started in January 2024.
Hamilton Springs care home is Exemplar Health Care’s 11th home in West Yorkshire and supports adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities. The opening of the new home has created 100 new healthcare jobs in the local area.
The home has 37 across large bedrooms, each with an ensuite wet room, split across three communities. With this small group living model, the home can provide a homely and supportive environment that’s fully responsive to people’s needs.
The home also features communal dining and living spaces, sensory bathrooms, an activities hub with an assisted daily living kitchen, a therapy treatment room, a beauty salon and a large accessible garden.
People living at Hamilton Springs will be able to access the full range of clinical and holistic care they need. The new team prides itself on empowering residents to maximise their independence in a way that works for them based on their healthcare needs, whilst providing the support they need to live fulfilling and enjoyable lives.
