Cirencester’s new luxury retirement complex, ‘Siddington Park’, has just held the grand opening of it’s pioneering new ‘Bark Park’, an enclosed interactive 750 sq ft dog park.  The Bark Park is situated in the heart of the retirement village in a mature woodland area providing shade on hot days, and features a dog agility area, a ‘Paws for Thought’ bench for owners, an eco-friendly septic tank poop disposal system, a grooming table and water points for thirsty pups.  The Bark Park is also covered in tree-bark chippings to prevent a muddy surface and café-style lights so it can be used on winter evenings.  Everything in the Bark Park has been made from recycled materials, and was created by Rangeford Villages’ multi award-winning landscape designers, Chris and Ricky Liversidge.

The Grand Opening of the Bark Park was hosted by Rangeford Villages’ CEO Howard Nankivell, with residents and staff from Siddington Park in attendance with their beloved canine pets.

Siddington Park homeowner Roy Chambers often visits with his schnauzer Lexi. “It’s a great area and really good for dogs to use up some energy without having to go on a long walk on a miserable day.” he says.

Siddington Park’s Village Manager, Will Ryan said: “Wellness is at the heart of a Rangeford lifestyle, and we have dedicated initiatives all year round to provide our residents with a holistic wellbeing lifestyle through our ‘Revive Leisure Club’.  The evidence of the positive health impact of owning pets is well known.  Especially during retirement, pets can help to prevent feelings of isolation and loneliness but also provide that important motivation to complete daily activities.  Our new Bark Park offers our dog owners a wonderful new space to socialise in.”
